The CARE group of companies:
- Founded in 1982 by the former head of international operations of SmithKline, to manufacture and distribute CARE diagnostica such as clinical chemistry products, reagents and glucose analyzers
- 1984: FDA approval obtained for hemoCARE, a three-hole guaiac FOB test
- 1988: hemoCARE was introduced in Germany
- In the 1990's, hemoCARE becomes the leading FOB test in sales to German hospitals after an independent clinical study demonstrated its superiority over Hemoccult
- 1998: OTC products were developed beginning with the CARE pregnancy test
- Customers include hospitals, physician offices, laboratories, drugstore chains, independent pharmacies and others
- Production/distribution facilities in the United States, Germany and Austria
- More than 100,000 customers in 28 countries
